Hello everyone! How about we do a little experiment?
As you know, there have been many Laras, have different ways of interpreting her character, even through the classics, but what about the other areas she's associated herself with? Lara's been in movies, featured along side many different game characters, had her own comic series, and even dolls have been made! In that note, let us know what you think of Lara's influence throughout time?

IT'S ALL ABOUT LARA
The Survey

- In the movies, actress Angelina Jolie became Lara Croft in both the 2001 and the 2003 movies. What did you think of her performance (this does not include the story line, other characters in the movie, etc.) as Lara Croft? If you didn't like her acting, who would you of picked to play the part as archeologist and explorer, Lara Croft? (Please base answers not only by the likeness in appearance of Lara, but also as an actress and their talent in doing so.)

- While the character between the comic book Lara and the game character version of Lara, which do you think is the better attitude? (Please answer only if you have a good reading of the comics. We want a fair answer, right?)

- Lara's had many travels; the Scion of Atlantis, the Dagger of Xian, the Amulet of Horus, and so on. Do you think there's any story that Lara has that could of been interpreted better than it was in the classics?

- When Lara's character comes to mind, what is the first thing you think of? Guns? Artifacts? Deathtraps? Boobs?

- If you could have a game made with Lara and any other game character already created in the gaming industry, what would be the pairing? (This doesn't refer to romantic relationships with Lara. We are referring to an actual game character playing with Lara that you could control as well).

- Lara's never been a humanitarian, per say, rather, she's had a bleak outlook more or less on whatever comes her way, be it animal or human, if it bites, shoot it. What has been one of your favorite enemies that Lara has faced in the past? Tigers? Sharks? Thugs? (This does not include bosses.)

- Tomb Raider has always surrounded itself with unrealistic ideas. Jumping across 20ft gaps, that no human being could possibly do. Holding your breath for almost 2 minutes while swimming at a good 20mph. However, there is always one thing each player likes to do that is completely crazy. What's yours? Diving off clips with swan dive? Or perhaps it's running away from speeding boulders down runways?

- Playing with ancient artifacts is to be either considered brilliance or madness. Lara's never truly cared for either, however, out of all the artifacts that Lara has managed to get her hands on, whether she's kept them or not, what is your favorite?

- Remember that Quad-Bike down in India? Or perhaps the motorboat in Venice? Miss Croft has always been one to travel in style. What was your favorite vehicle to drive/control?

- Style is Lara's second nature, or so we'd like to believe. What is the most comical outfit Lara has had in the classics? Maybe the shorts and the jacket in Tibet, where the temperatures can drop below 0 degrees? Or maybe it's the South Pacific gear, where the inhabitants have a knack to eat anything exposed (like skin and flesh, for instance) on the human body, enticing them, perhaps?

- Whoa! Did you see that?! They are some scary creatures that Lara has faced, yet she always comes out on top of the beasts: Dragons, cat-like mummy creatures, cannibals, the list goes on. What was one of the scariest soon-to-be-dead from Lara creatures you faced in your opinion?

That's all the questions for now, but tune in into the group's journal from time to time, to see what new survey questions we have for you!

Okay, I can answer this!

1) Angelina was perfect as Lara. End of story.

2) I've read only one issue of the comic, but the characterization seemed on-target. Maybe a little too chipper (kind of like CD Lara) but on the mark nonetheless.

3) I think all of the plots of the classic games were good but sometimes poorly executed. And most of the time, they were just typical adventure plots; Lara usually had no personal stake in them other than that she'd die with the rest of the world if the villain succeeded. Something I liked about TLR and AoD was that she did have a personal stake in the stories of those games, so those adventures were unique to her and no other adventurer. One thing I always wanted to see in the games was Lara interact (maybe even reconcile) with her parents, who disowned her when she first adopted her "un-ladylike" lifestyle.

4) Girl power! :la: Seriously, though: I first played TR1 at the tender age of 11, when I was starting to take notice of the social interactions (and sexist ideals) around me, and Lara was a total inspiration, hero, and role model to me at that time. In fact, I'd say she's still all of those things to me. :)

5) Kurtis Trent. ;P But if we're talking non-TR characters, I'd say Nate Drake.

6) Does the T Rex in TR3 count? You don't have to kill it to continue the game....Anyway, I really liked that (optional) fight because while facing the T Rex, you can trigger the raptors, and the raptors will attack the T Rex and kill it for you. :D

7) Saving the game, then swan diving off extremely high ledges, just to see how far the fall is. XD Also seeing how many different ways you can kill Lara at once. For example, steering Lara into the water in the 3rd India level in TR3 kills her in three ways at once: 1) explosion (the quad bike explodes on impact), 2) drowning, and 3) piranhas eating her.

8) The alien stones from TR3.

9) Probably the motorboat in TR4. I loved the Cairo levels!

10) Most comical would definitely Young Lara's vest and pigtails. How much more pre-school can you get??

11) All of the creatures she encountered on the Black Isle in TR5. Especially Death!
